AO 271 Agency Responses
On December 24, 2014, Governor Walker signed Administrative Order 271. By doing so the Governor is directing State agencies to halt to the maximum extent possible discretionary expenditures for the following projects. In response to this Administrative Order, agencies have submitted funding status reports for these projects. The administration is evaluating this information and will be having additional discussions with agencies and stakeholders. Decision timelines will vary by project. This website will be updated when decisions are made.

With a new state administration, I hope the following is considered regarding the proposed Susitna Dam. The real role of the Alaska Energy Authority should not be to promote the project. AEA should only oversee the pre-licensing process.
Action Advances Tribal Self-Governance and Tribal Sovereignty
WASHINGTON, DC – As part of President Obama’s commitment to upholding the nation’s trust responsibilities to American Indian and Alaska Natives, Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs Kevin K. Washburn today announced a final rule that will allow the Department of the Interior to accept land into trust for federally recognized Alaska tribes.
